To function as part of the Maternity administrative team, providing leadership and
coordination for the Maternity ward clerks. The post holder will be expected to organise
and prioritise own workload and to coordinate the effective management of all Maternity
ward clerk services. This may require the post-holder to work at a different site in the event
of absence.

  • To enter, record and update information to ensure that all patients are accurately registered on the relevant Trust information system and that any further documentation relating to a patients’ attendance is completed and appropriately stored.
  • Ensure patients and births are correctly and fully registered on Cerner, including the issue of NHS numbers or other identification numbers e.g. NM4B numbers.
  • To coordinate the pulling, searching and preparation of all patient notes, ensuring that complete sets of notes are available for all Maternity admissions. This will involve liaising with clinicians, medical records
